Italian Pauldrons-15th C
"Elector Freidrich"
These pauldrons are based on those of Freidrich, Elector Palatine, in Vienna. They
are constructed using a rear row of sliding rivets and internal leathers in the front.
They articulate quite well. I have decided to use a sort of hanging toggle arm to attach
the rondels, keeping them mobile, but making them more stable than if I used leather straps.
I have modified and improved the pattern somewhat from the pictures shown. The newer version
fits the upper arm more closely and the profile of the upper lames is smoother.
